Positive Feedback....
I felt compelled to write about Positive feedback. Let me explain what I mean. Just this past Sunday at church, my son went up in front of everyone and spoke on the Golden Rule. (Do unto others as you want done to you) Being only 11 years old I was so proud that he went up in front of everyone and spoke on the topic. No way I would have done that at his age. Heck, there are lots of people who will tell you today, that they would never do that! Public Speaking is not one of the most favored things to do by most. After the sermon I was told by many how great of a job he did. Lots of Positive feedback, I was so proud. Then, one of the gentleman from church went over to my son and told him he doesn't speak much in front of people and it showed. Told him he looked like he was about to crap his pants, and cracked a joke about that being the reason he was wearing dark shorts. Very rude, and totally discouraged my son. Now here is the point. Why? Why would you say such words and discourage someone who stepped out of their comfort zone and went in front of a group of 100+ people, at the age of 11 nonetheless, to speak on the Golden Rule. (Or any subject for that matter) There is nothing prosperous about trying to shoot someone down. If you have something negative say, or you want to share your opinion, sometimes it is best to keep it to yourself. Live by the rule, "If you don't have nothing nice to say, don't say nothing at all." Good for you T-man, you did an awesome job up there. Never get discouraged by hurtful words that come from another person. It takes courage to stand up and speak in front of a crowd. I am proud of you! Be Positive, there is enough negative in the world already, it is time we start fighting back. Make today and everyday a Positive one. Be the example....... |

Great share and your totally right. What gets me though is that people will read what you just wrote and still be clueless. Often times people believe that they know best, a very arrogant position and that is why they go negative. I bet the guy who dumped on your son is deep down a very closed off, arrogant, know it all type of person.
I enjoyed reading this intel, some people Aylewand, chose to go around wearing blinkers. It's all to easy to live life from inside a cosy little bubble, apparently totally unaware of reality...
